Cyprus Cycle Challenge 2019, what does it involve?

Cyprus Cycle Challenge has been running for over 20years and is a staple event in the cycling calendar for all cyclists based in Cyprus. Experienced cyclists and novices alike will take on 4days of riding, with over 5000m of climbing, covering 529km.

A team based event, ensuring all riders complete the task ahead. You will ride in pelotons for the majority of the ride but there will be some individual effort sections, ie 'free runs'. Cyclists are required to ensure that they are physically fit enough to be able to ride within this peloton at all times. The speed will be kept at approx of 25kmph (approx 15.5mph) within the peloton, this is due to time parameters we need to meet, safety and some sections will be escorted by a combination of civilian and SBA Police especially through busy areas.

The aim of the ride is to encourage those who have never cycled this distance before, providing them with a physical and mental challenge, whilst also giving experienced cyclists an opportunity to ride around the island. But don't be fooled, this is no easy challenge, so you must ensure you are suitably trained and fit enough, both medically and physically to be able to complete CCC19.

This site provides an overview of the four stages, links to the application form, videos of previous challenges and articles and a FAQ section. Applications will close NLT 1 March 2019 or when the event reaches capacity. This date is set to ensure that the arrival of your bespoke CCC19 bike jersey and finishers t-shirt, all included in your entry fee, arrives in time for the event.

A full event instruction will be emailed to participants on allocation of a place and confirmed payment. Payment is via a bank transfer, details of which are emailed on completion of the application form.
